WB has an exciting opportunity to help develop and lead a new Tax Incentives segment from the ground up. The group is currently searching for a manager to drive projects in the areas of federal credits including research and development (“R&D”) tax credits, fixed asset services including cost segregation studies and fixed asset outsourcing, and Green Building tax incentives such as Sections 179D and 45L. 

What you will do…

•    Collaborate with WB leadership and staff on all phases of an R&D credit engagement including initial scoping, engagement letter, information requests, timely and proactive client communications, staffing, project execution, quality assurance review, and reporting 
•    Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Research and Development tax issues, analyzing organizations, and maximizing the R&D tax benefit
•    Exhibit proven leadership and project management skills in managing client service teams and multiple projects in a fast-paced and interactive team environment to meet and exceed client expectations. 
•    Develop and review descriptions of qualified project activities and technical memos to support R&D credit positions 
•    Create and execute project work plans; develop appropriate quantitative and qualitative documentation to support project results
•    Communicate value propositions; manage resource requirements, project workflow, budgets, billing, and collections
•    Lead technical interviews with client personnel such as scientists and engineers
•    Identify value-added opportunities and work in a team environment to develop business
•    Research R&D credit statute, regulations, and case law 
•    Assist with IRS and state examination support of R&D credits 
•    Work with large, complex data sets to build models and leverage data visualization tools to provide insights to clients
•    Utilize digitization tools to reduce hours and optimize engagements
•    Develop, build, and manage client relationships through direct interaction with C-suite, tax and finance stakeholders, and business owners 
•    Provide timely and outstanding client service, exceeding client expectations 
•    Actively coach, mentor, develop, and train staff from a technical perspective as well as all facets of client engagement execution 

What you bring…

•    Required: CPA, Member of the Bar or other tax, technology, or finance-specific credentials 
•    Bachelor's degree in engineering or accounting, MST is a plus
•    Minimum: 5 years of related experience in R&D tax credits
•    Preferred: experience in public accounting or specialty tax credit firm
•    Diverse client base across several industries
•    Comprehensive technical skills with research credit regulations from the IRS, research credit case law, and utilizing R&D databases
•    Strong analytical, problem solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
•    Adept at handling multiple priorities, tasks, and simultaneous projects 
•    Technical proficiency and data management skills, including advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerBI
•    Ability to mentor and develop staff, including on the job technical training and coaching 
•    Exceptional client service and communication skills with a proven ability to develop and maintain outstanding relationships
•    Expected travel up to 50%
