What you will be doing…
The CAS Manager is a key member of the CAS Leadership Team, responsible not only for delivering high-quality client service but also for driving the implementation of practice-wide initiatives and programs. This position plays a vital part in supporting the practices’ growth and profitability while also developing and mentoring internal team members, supporting their growth and success within the firm. CAS Manager at times may perform interim roles for clients during transitions, medical leaves, or during extended absences.
- Prepare/review and troubleshoot any issues with bank and credit card transactions and reconciliations.
- Oversee and review all general ledger reconciliations and prepare/review client month-end close journal entries.
- Prepare/review fixed asset registers.
- Prepare/review prepaid and accrual schedules.
- Oversee the month-end close process.
- Prepare/review schedules for external auditor requests, when requested.
- Reconcile, review, and post monthly payroll entries.
- Preparation and review of prepared & compiled GAAP and income tax basis financial statements.
- Prepare footnotes to financial statements.
- Ability to support CAS staff and clients.
- Train CAS staff and be proficient in Sage Intacct, Oracle NetSuite, QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Bill, Expensify, and other software applications.
- Streamline accounting processes for financial reporting and internal control efficiencies.
- Ability to analyze financial results and make recommendations to client management.
- Prepare/review annual 1099 forms.
- Prepare/review Business personal property tax returns.
- Prepare/review Freeport exemption returns.
Manage accounts payable function for multiple clients:
- Strong knowledge of AP in various software programs and the ability to troubleshoot issues.
- Review staff reconciliations of multi-transactional vendor invoices.
- Review the month-end close and required reporting including performing a reconciliation of the AP detail report to the general ledger AP balance.
- Support general accounting functions as needed; strong knowledge of Excel required.
Manage accounts receivable function for multiple clients:
- Strong knowledge of AR in various software programs and the ability to troubleshoot issues.
- Review month-end close and required reporting including performing a reconciliation of the AR detail report to the general ledger AR balance.
- Prepare/review sales tax returns.
What you bring…
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- CPA preferred
- Four-year degree in Accounting or other related field of study required
- Experience preparing and reviewing compiled GAAP and income tax basis financial statements
- Work with various versions of QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, and NetSuite
- Intermediate level PC skills with focus on Excel (including pivot and VLOOKUP)
- Very organized, with strong time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to prioritize effectively and meet tight monthly deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good judgment skills and ability to know when to escalate an issue to others
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
*Preferred: Consideration will be given to candidates in the Atlanta or Chattanooga area who are comfortable working in a hybrid model. The CAS team works remotely, with periodic in-office meetings for those in the local market. We will also consider strong candidates that are remotely based in other geographic locations.
