What you will do:
- Gain a broad exposure to tax including experience in reviewing tax provision, preparing federal corporate (C and S), multi-state, individual, and partnership returns.
- Identify and assist with implementation of tax planning and tax saving strategies.
- Prepare and review income tax returns and contact affiliated personnel to investigate relevant facts and documents where needed.
- Contribute to client satisfaction by providing clients with quality, timely and responsive services/work products in line with Firm processes and procedures.
- Use Firm resources to research and demonstrate an understanding of complex tax concepts.
- Discuss moderately complex tax issues with the engagement team and client management.
- Keep informed of current tax developments and effectively apply tax knowledge to client situations.
- Become knowledgeable of computer software used in the Tax department including CCH Prosystems, iChannel, XCM, Sharefile, and Sureprep.
- Prepare practical and effective approaches to the client's tax situation and arrive at appropriate conclusions.
- Contribute recommendations and implement plans to assist with making quality decisions in complex areas.
- Assist in the development and training of interns.
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
- 2-3 years of public accounting experience
- Solid technical accounting knowledge
- Effective time management skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work well within a collaborative team environment, as well as independently
- Willingness to take initiative
- Ability to work against deadlines
- Strong oral and written communication skills
*Preferred: Consideration will be given to candidates in the Atlanta or Chattanooga area who are comfortable working in a hybrid model.
